Blog reader, Mariner and one of my Facebook friends, Mary Gamble Rice posted some photos the other day that were so absolutely adorable (and for a good cause) that I think I stopped just short of all out begging to put these up on the blog.
The information she provided me with is that these photos are from the Oosterdam and Mary had it made before the cruise so Savannah (quite possibly the cutest little girl on this Earth) would have a shirt for the walk too. Everyone from this group that walked did so in honor of Mary’s mother who died from breast cancer in 1961. Carrie and John are Savannah (Savie)’s parents in the photos, and the photos included are those that Mary said she loves the most.
I have to admit Mary… I love them too. Not only are you able to honor your mother’s memory while supporting a phenomenal cause… but you have also proven why we don’t have a “Dam Cute Kids” contest onboard. Savie would win on every ship, every time and set a standard no one else could ever hope to aspire to!
Thanks for sharing the story and the photos!
