Visitors and Seattleites alike now have a new landmark by which to locate Holland America’s corporate headquarters. Just tell them to look for the massive anchor on the building’s south lawn. The giant anchor off of the ms Veendam was recently installed at 300 Elliott Ave West. The anchor which weighs in at 18,500 lbs served Veendam well for more than a dozen years from when it entered service in Italy in 1996 until it was decommissioned on September 26th, 2008.
